The New England Masters Study Club was created following the completion of Track I of the New England MasterTrack Program in 1996.  It was conceived as the natural evolution of the AGD Mastership, allowing its members to continue their high level of continuing dental education.

In its current iteration, membership is open to all those who have either attained Academy of General Dentistry Mastership, or have completed at least 50% of an approved AGD Master Track program.

The organization is run by an executive committee consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, all serving a two year term, elected by the membership.

Because of the status of its membership, the NEMSC attracts the best lecturers to its meetings, which are held bianually.

The NEMSC holds meetings in the fall and spring of the year throughout the New England area.  The locations and course content are decided upon by the membership.

The NEMSC is a not for profit study club, and as such has been able to keep the costs of meetings and annual dues to a bare minimum.  Attending is very affordable, and cost per hour of c.e. is the lowest available anywhere.

Through our commitment, experience, and expertise, The New England Masters Study Club has established itself as the penultimate source for continuing dental education for the AGD Master.  We have developed, and continue to develop a relationship with our members that will last a lifetime!

Our biannual meetings are both didactic and participatory (hands-on) and provide between 17 and 21 hours of continuing education per meeting.

By participating in both of our meetings during the year, not only do you get the best of "state of the art" intellectually stimulating continuing education, but you satisfy all of the current mandatory continuing education requirements for the year!

All of this, and a cost per credit hour that cannot be surpassed.

Dear NEMSC members:

In just a few days, you should receive the course registration for our next CE offering:  “The Evolution of Digital Dentistry – Take it to the Next Level.”   Our own member, Ronni Schnell along with her colleague at BU, Alex Bendayan, will present a comprehensive look at the old and the new:

On Friday morning, (10/27), our topic will be “Diagnosis for Success and Avoid Complications with Overdentures,” while on Friday afternoon we will discuss the “Nuts and Bolts of Implant-Assisted Overdentures,” (pun intended).

On Saturday, we will be gaining an insight into reading CBCT data and looking at surgical guides using CEREC guides 2.0.  On Sunday morning, we will be taking a fresh look at removal prosthetics:  Digitally Scanned, Designed and Fabricated prosthesis.  See the side bar or your registration form for further details.

Two weeks ago, Colleen and I headed to the AGD meeting in Las Vegas.  The Scientific and Award session is now separated completely from the Governance meeting in the Fall.

I am pleased to report that our member Chris Root was awarded the MAGD.  Congratulations to Chris and his family for all the hard work and sacrifice.   Scott Bobbitt and myself were awarded the LLSR – I encourage all Masters to work towards this achievement.  Last year, our members Chuck McQuaid and Steve Root were so honored and I hope we can continue this tradition.

Wishing you all a very good remainder of the summer months and I look forward to seeing you at our October Meeting.  We will be electing new officers and I am happy to report that Hillary Caruso will be your new president.   You will be in very good hands!

Sincerely,

Frank D’Auria, DMD MAGD, President
